Users
Administrators
System administrators will be in charge of setting up and maintaining the system once it has been created. They will be given complete access to the system.
Teachers/Therapists/Staff
Teachers, therapists, and staff will be given similar levels of access, directly under Administrators. They will require easy access to all details pertaining to people within the building, including the ability to track individual movements over time and in real-time, and access to a display of the entire building. Teachers and therapists will primarily use their access to provide better care for their students and/or patients, while staff, such as security personnel, will primarily use their access to maintain security and order within the building.
Students/Patients
Students and patients will be given relatively low levels of access. They will not need to modify any aspect of the system themselves, but will simply have greater privileges than 'Guests' at entering certain rooms within the facility. Their use of the system will only be to allow staff to track their movements and, optionally, unlock/open doors.
Guests
Guests are defined as anyone entering the facility who has not been personally added into the system. They will have extremely limited access to rooms. A guest account will need to be quickly modified to allow individual guests access to different areas of the facility.
Deployment Environment
Facility
The system should be versatile enough to be installed in any arbitrary building or complex. An interactive graphical representation of the building or complex (such as floor plans) would be a welcome addition to the database information, but is not required at this time. Such a feature would need to be drawable CAD-style within the program, or else partially or entirely imported from another (e.g. from a digital image or a set of CAD blueprints).
